Pronghorn Antelope Hunting in Colorado

We had another successful antelope hunt on October 2.

We started early on Saturday and saw numerous antelope throughout the morning.  We were guiding 2 hunters at the same time and saw 2 nice bucks that we decided to try to harvest.  However, the antelope were very skittish and we were unable to get close enough for a good shot.

We decided to leave the area and let the antelope settle a bit, so we had lunch and took a nap!  Later in the afternoon, we went back in and began our hunt again.  Our first hunter was able to sneak up on a nice buck and take him with a 330 yard shot.

We got the second hunter in position just as 5 bucks came in following a hot doe.  The bucks were really rutting and ended up nearly running over our hunter.  They came up within 30 yards and had the hunter completely locked down.    After an exciting moment, the antelope moved off and our hunter was able to get in position and harvest another nice buck.

All in all, the hunt was a big success.  We sent 2 happy hunters back home and saw several mature bucks in the process.  We also got a good look at a couple of nice mule deer bucks early in the morning.  I am thankful that God granted us a successful day!
